LOCAL artists with different expertise— sculptor Ronald Castrillo, painter Caesar Certeza, and wooden furniture designer by Agi Pagkatipunan—collaborated on a month-long exhibit to culminate today at the Viridian Showroom in Greenhills Shopping Center, San Juan City.

The items on display come in various forms that cater to households of different shapes and sizes, ranging from intimate to wide spaces.

Hailing from a family of sculptors and artists, Castrillo exhibited his mastery over the manipulation of brass, steel and other metals to materialize different memories. “Most of my sculptures on display are recollections of my childhood brought to life,” he said.

On the other hand, Certeza shared that he is inspired by motion, energy and colors, seen through the play of different hues and medium in his works. He added that that his paintings cater not only to families but also to individuals.

Lastly, Pagkatipunan quipped his works are not just furniture but are “functional sculptures” made out of salvaged Philippine hardwood. The use of different types of wood allow for his furniture to have soul and depth.
