You’ll rock as the hottest Filipino bands in the country today—Hale, Silent Sanctuary, Ebe Dancel, Never the Strangers and Meg Fernandez—perform on stage back to back with the most popular DJs in town, including Ace Ramos, Tom Taus, Jet Boado, BadKiss, Jennifer Lee, Mc Jams, Mc Gino and Mc Khel.
Pinopela holds special Valentine show at Acacia
Acacia Hotel Manila brings to its stage one of the best contemporary a capella groups in the country, Pinopela, for a one night show on Saturday, February 13, 7:30 p.m. at the Grand Acacia Ballroom.
Composed of 8 young and talented singers all hailing from Baguio City, the group was first recognized when it joined the Akapela Open wherein they placed 2nd and Champion in 2013 and 2014 respectively. Just recently, they qualified for two international competitions to represent the Philippines- Vokal Total International A Cappella Competition in Graz, Austria and International Acapella Championships in Singapore.
Lani Misalucha in ‘Love Catcher’ at Resort’s World Manila
Asia’s Nightingale Lani Misalucha is all set for her two nights concert touted as “Love Catcher”, on February 14 and 15, 2016 at Newport Performing Arts Theater of Resort’s World Manila.
Lani will be singing classy, timeless and soothing love songs that will surely cater to all audience from young to old. Aside Filipino and English classic songs, audience will be entertain with Lani’s rendition of songs in four different languages – Italian, German, Spanish and French. A tribute to Nathalie Cole with full house production design is also one of highlights of the show.
‘Jazz …In Love,’ a Valentine concert
Laurel Media presents “Jazz…InLove,” a special Valentine concert featuring “Queen of Jazz” Annie Brazil, “Prince of Jazz” Richard Merk and singer-pianist-arranger Emcy Corteza. The show will be held on Feb. 13 at the Laurel House along Shaw Boulevard, Mandaluyong City.
Among Annie Brazil’s influences was Duke Ellington who she idolized. Richard’s admits to being a fan of such music icons as Al Jarreau, The Beatles, Billy Holiday, James Taylor, Tony Bennett and Frank Sinatra. Emcy’s idols include Ella Fitzgerald, The Carpenters, Patty Austin, Mangattan Transfer and Jane Monheit.
Hirsch-Pinkas Piano Duo concert at CCP
The Cultural Center of the Philippines presents duo pianists Evan Hirsch and Sally Pinkas in a concert on December 9, 2015 at 7:30pm at the Tanghalang Aurelio Tolentino (CCP Little Theater). Program includes W. A. Mozart’s Andante mit Variationen in G major, KV 501 (1786), Sergei Rachmaninoff’s Six Pieces, Op. 11 (1894), Franz Schubert’s Rondo in A Major, Op. 107 D. 951 (1828), and Samuel Barber’s Souvenirs, Op. 28 (1954).
