Singapore Airlines successfully staged its second Showcase and Travel Fair from February 6 to 8 at the Glorietta Activity Center, providing a suite of exciting travel offerings for the Philippines market.

Highlights of the event included the exclusive Singapore Airlines Suites cabin product, which was brought into the Philippines on display for the very first time, preview of the airline’s newest cabin class—Premium Economy Class, and showcase of the airline’s new concept SilverKris Lounge that is slated to open at Ninoy Aquino International Airport in March this year.

The three-day fair opened on February 5 with a VIP and media preview led by the airline’s Regional Vice President for South East Asia, Philip Goh, and Singapore Airlines’ General Manager for the Philippines, Carol Ong.

“Singapore Airlines and our sister carrier, SilkAir, operate a total of 49 flights a week from the Philippines and connect to over 90 cities globally through Singapore. With 2015 being Visit The Philippines Year, we are all set to bring the world to the Philippines and showcase the Philippines to the world,” Goh announced.

“Also, our investments this year, such as the recent introduction of our First Class product on one of our Manila to Singapore flights and the upcoming launch of our new concept SilverKris Lounge, clearly demonstrate the confidence we have in the Philippines as a tourist and business destination,” he added.

Gracing this special occasion were Secretary Cesar Purisima of the Department of Finance, Secretary Joseph Emilio Aguinaldo Abaya of the Department of Transportation and Communications as well as some 500 guests from the diplomatic corps, travel industry, various business sectors and the media.

Meanwhile, Singapore Airlines’ General Manager for the Philippines, Carol Ong, unveiled the discounted airfares that were made available at the fair.

She said, “Besides our exceptional all-inclusive promotional airfares which start from $145 for Economy Class and USD800 for Business Class, we are pleased to share that customers can now also enjoy the opportunity to book a one-night Singapore Stopover Holiday package or a one-day Singapore Explorer Pass at only $1.”

This year’s Singapore Airlines Showcase and Travel Fair is staged in partnership with Ayala Malls, BPI, Globe Telecom, the Singapore Tourism Board and the Changi Airport Group.
