‘Sillag Festival’ all set in La Union


SAN FERNANDO CITY, La Union: The provincial government and Poro Point Management Corporation (PPMC) will hold a 3-day activity as part of 5th Sillag Festival (Festival of Lights) along the Poro Point bay walk from April 8 to 10 here. Activities like “A Thousand Lanterns for a Thousand Dreams” tomorrow (Friday), will feature a barbecue grill cook-off, a zumba dance and a sunset fun run. A local challenge for fishermen, “Lumba ti bilog,” a fluvial race; an air show; street dancing with light-emitting costumes for students; and lanterns by the bay on April 9. In addition, the sky diving show, march band exhibition, fire dance and pyro-musical show will be held on April 10. Sillag comes from the Ilocano word sellag, meaning “moonbeam”.
