NEW YORK: After 30 years as commissioner of the NBA that saw the league become a global sports powerhouse, David Stern’s reign ended not with a bang but with a tweet. The league announced on Saturday (Sunday in Manila) morning on its Twitter page that Adam Silver had officially replaced Stern as commissioner exactly 30 years to the day from when the 71-year-old son of a New York deli owner took the job.
