Thailand finished second overall with three gold, five and six bronze medals, followed by Malaysia with two golds, two silvers and four bronzes medals, and Vietnam with two silvers and six bronzes.

Host Philippines settled for three bronze medals in the five-day event organized by the Table Tennis Association of the Philippines President Ting Ledesma and supported by the Philippine Olympic Committee, Philippine Sports Commission and International Table Tennis Federation.

“It’s still a positive result though,” said Ledesma, referring to the Philippine junior team’s accomplishment. “It only means that there is hope in table tennis. We, Filipinos, should focus on this sports.”

The Philippines captured the bronze in the girls’ 18-U doubles, boys’ 15-U team event and boys’ 15-U singles event courtesy of 13-year-old Jann Mari Nayre of Mandaue, Cebu.
