An exclusive anniversary celebration for Singapore Airline’s 50th year was held at the residence of Singapore’s Ambassador to the Philippines Her Excellency Kok Li Peng in Makati City. In attended were members of the diplomatic corps, industry travel partners and friends from the media.
Following the ethos of Singapore Airlines of always providing excellent service with a keen attention to detail, nothing was spared to make the celebration truly memorable. With the theme “A Celebration of Ties that Bind,” the home of the ambassador was elegantly styled with arrangements by floral architect, Rachy Cuna.
The airline’s iconic Singapore Girls were also present to celebrate with the guests and to share how to make a rose using the signature Singapore Airlines batik fabric.
The evening also had the jet-setting crowd indulge on gourmet creations of Chef Gilbert Pangilinan who whipped up local interpretations of popular Singaporean dishes like satay, popiah and oyster omelet and prepared favorite Filipino dishes such as chicken adobo rice, lumpiang sariwa, wagyu inasal and suckling pig. This was in collaboration with the LTB Association of Chefs who recently won several awards at the 2016 Culinary Challenge in Singapore, a prestigious event hailed as one of the world’s largest and most comprehensive food shows.
Besides the food, guests were served special cocktails such as Singapore Sling, the local version, Haji Lane and Manila Dusk which were expertly concocted by The Curator. Guests were also entertained by the Brat Pack band who performed modern renditions of popular favorite songs.
