Six dead in Bicol road mishaps


LEGAZPI CITY, Albay: Road accidents in the Bicol region the past two days left six people dead, a police officer quoting reports at Camp Gen. Simeon Ola here said on Wednesday.

Insp. Malou Calubaquib, Bicol police spokesperson, said Ryza Antonette Azenza of Don Antonio, Quezon City; Mathew De Leon; one surnnamed Malubay of Labo; and a certain Jack of Camarines Norte were killed when the Toyota Hi-Lux pick-up they were riding lost control of the steering wheel and slammed into an acacia tree in Barangay Sto. Domingo in Vinzons town, Camarines Norte on Monday.

In Camarines Sur, two passengers died upon arrival at the Partido District Hospital after their car rammed a concrete fence due to a wet road in Barangay Danlog in San Jose town at about 9:45 p.m. on Tuesday.

The fatalities were identified as Abelardo Bolaon and Shiela Competente while wounded were Riza Paa and Eddie Boy Plaza, all residents of Barangay Pugay, San Jose. Paa and Plaza were transferred to Bicol Medical Center in Naga City.
