BATANGAS: Six people were hurt when a man opened fire in a fiesta celebration in Tanauan City Friday night. Tanauan City police chief Supt. Chris Olazo identified the wounded as Simeon Javier, Shiela Señar, Shaira Mae Quiatchon, Joven Pardillas, Joy Annie Mariz Obrador and Charisse Anne De Guia. Investigation showed that the victims were watching a variety show at Barangay Pagaspas’s basketball covered court when the gunman identified as Lino Malabanan started shooting at the crowd around 9:15 p.m. Apparently, Malabanan was only targeting Simeon Javier due to an old grudge when the other victims were hit with stray bullets, said Olazo. Malabanan fled after the shooting while the wounded victims were all rushed to CP Reyes Hospital in Tanauan City and Saint Cabrini Hospital in Sto. Tomas, Batangas. Olazo ordered a manhunt operation for the immediate arrest of Malabanan.
