Pay television and broadband connectivity provider SkyCable Corporation expects its recently launched pay-TV service, Sky On Demand, to boost the company’s business growth.
SkyCable Vice President for Digital Business Jerome Almirante said Sky On Demand, the pay TV provider’s online video service, is seen to definitely boost growth, although without saying a figure.
“This will help our cable and broadband businesses,” Almirante told reporters during a company media event in Quezon City.
SkyCable recently introduced Sky On Demand’s multiscreen capability that allows subscribers to watch and catch on TV shows and movies on their TVs, smart phones, and tablets.
This is the latest update to Sky On Demand, which was launched a few months earlier.
Sky On Demand offers features, such as creating customized play list of favorite TV series episodes and movies, getting a play list for partially watched videos.
“When we launch something like this, we are really expecting that it will increase growth,” Almirante said.
Sky On Demand is exclusive to SkyCable subscribers and accessible through Sky broadband connections or Sky’s mobile broadband internet, Sky Mobi.
“We sell broadband on the internet and we also know that people use the internet for (entertainment),” Almirante said.
SkyCable is a subsidiary of the publicly listed media conglomerate, ABS-CBN Corp. (ABS). SkyCable operates in Metro Manila and its vicinities.
