The test pitting work for Skyway Stage 3 (SS3) project along the southbound direction of Osmena Highway in Makati, in front of Cash & Carry Mall, requires the reduction of the existing three lanes to two lanes from Emilia Street up to the on-ramp of Buendia flyover. The test pit activity aims to ensure that it is safe to drill or escavate the area where SS3 columns will be erected.
The Department of Public Works and Highways earlier granted the SS3 contractor to undertake said activity which will last until March 16.
To avoid delay and traffic inconvenience during the road lane reduction, southbound motorists are advised to immediately go up the Buendia flyover to proceed to the Skyway System’s elevated and at-grade sections. They may also use alternate routes to their destination. Signages leading to alternate routes are posted in and around the work site and additional number of the traffic enforcers will be deployed direct traffic and assist motorists. Said road reduction scheme is being implemented in coordination with the Metro Manila Development Authority and the Makati Public Safety Department.
Team SS3 appeals for public understanding for any inconvenience said works may cause. It is prepared to make necessary adjustments in its traffic scheme to make sure public safety is not compromised and traffic slowdown is minimized.
