Skyway firm renews ISO certification


The Skyway O&M Corporation’s (SOMCO) successfully renewed its certification under the Societal Security – Business Continuity Management (BCM) system covering the international standard of ISO 22301:2012 following a positive surveillance audit performed by the TUV Rheinland-India and TUV Rheinland-Philippines, a global provider of technical, safety and certification services.

SOMCO continues to maintain its BCM certification for the past two years. It remains to be the only BCM-certified tollway operator in the country and the first in Southeast Asia.

SOMCO president and CEO Manuel Bonoan expressed his appreciation to the TUV-Rheinland audit team and to all employees who contributed to the successful conclusion of the annual third party surveillance audit and reiterated his commitment to pursue business continuity initiatives to better serve the requirements of the motoring public and other stakeholders.

Last July 2014, SOMCO also earned the Integrated Management System certification for triple standards of ISO 9001:2008, ISO14001:2004+Cor.1:2009 and OHSAS 18001:2007 which it has maintained for four straight years.

SOMCO operates the 29.8-km. Skyway System from Buendia in Makati City to Alabang in Muntinlupa City. igh cost has already been addressed by companies providing their own financing schemes to make it available and more affordable for users,” Pulido added.
