Skyway O&M Corp. (SOMCO) has started its three-day orientation for 98 qualified applicants composed mostly of senior citizens. About 120 hopefuls, aged 45 to 65 years, applied for the position of toll tellers last month. SOMCO management sees mature or senior citizen employees to be more responsible and dependable and are expected to to be more productive. During the orientation, Toll Collection officers explained the functions of the toll collection group as well as toll collection and customer service procedures. The committee, expounded on SOMCO policies and practices that conform with international standards for integrated quality, environmental and occupational health and safety management systems, SOMCO being an ISO-certified organization. Medical examination follows and those who pass will be on board by the second week of this month. The hiring of mature work force is in line with SOMCO’S corporate social responsibility and community relations program. Hiring for toll teller position continues. Applicants should have completed at least two years college or vocational course.
