THE Manila Toll Expressway Systems, Inc (MATES), the operator of the South Luzon Expressway (SLEX), has started its First Quarter 2015 repair and maintenance activities last January 6.
The maintenance works include the repainting of chariot guards as well as concrete and steel barriers in the vicinities of Ayala TR3, Eton and Silangan. The maintenance work is expected to be completed by the end of the month.
Meanwhile, all SLEX toll plaza structures will also undergo restoration works. Included in the refurbishment are the roto-milling, concreting and asphalt overlay works, which are scheduled to be completed by the first quarter of 2015. Several bridges along the SLEX stretch will also undergo repair works. These bridges include the San Isidro, San Cristobal, Malitlit, Carmona Railroad and Mojada bridges.
These activities, which are part of MATES’ regular maintenance program, are being undertaken to further enhance motoring convenience and safety along the 36-kilometer SLEX from Alabang to Calamba.
The MATES management appeals for motorists’ understanding and cooperation for whatever inconvenience the activities may cause.
