This will mean avoiding long queues to pay for your purchases and less stress looking for that perfect gift for the Christmas season.

SM Retail Inc., a unit of SM Investments Corp. yesterday launched the online portal. https://shop.thesmstore.com . Deliveries within Metro Manila are available while pick-up points have been established for other regions. SM said full logistics coverage nationwide will be available next year.

“We hope that with this new e-commerce site, we will be able to reach out to more of our customers by bringing more attractive brands online and provide them a more exciting and diverse shopping experience with SM,” Jorge Mendiola, SM Retail president, said.

This is in line with The SM Store’s —the brand of SM’s department store business—target “to redefine” customer shopping experience in the country by offering convenience and accessibility to customers.

“The online shopping site will bring us closer to our new generation of millennial shoppers. Our commitment is to provide convenience and accessibility to our customers through innovation. We remain cognizant of the evolution of shopping trends throughout the years,” he added.

The SM Store portal contains items found in every SM department store featuring categories such as Just In, Men, Women, Youth and Kids clothing and items, luggage, and even marked-down finds at the Sale! section.

SM’s door-to-door delivery will be accessible in most parts of the country. Purchases may be delivered directly to the buyer’s door, or may be picked up at various pick-up points available.

The pick-up points include: SM North EDSA for Metro Manila buyers after 24 hours of placing orders online, and different SM Stores throughout Metro Manila and Luzon after two working days of placing the order online.

For Visayas and Mindanao customers, SM said arrangements with some branches in the area are in development. The branches include SM Stores in Bacolod, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, General Santos and Mandurriao.

The SM Store targets to fully implement the nationwide coverage next year following the soft launch of the site within the year.

To date, SM has 50 SM Stores in the country.
