Small airports ordered to address runway incursions

The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines on Wednesday directed the 41 commercial-run airports that under their supervision to address the increasing cases of runway incursions involving unauthorized entry of vehicles, pedestrians and animals. Runway incursion has become a major safety issue for the agency, airlines, air traffic management airport operators, aviation related organizations as well as the International Civil Aviation Organization. The program does not include major international airports such as the Ninoy Aquino International Airport, Clark International Airport, Mactan-Cebu International Airport and Davao International Airport.
