SMDC targets ‘young market’ with new project


The retail group of tycoon Henry Sy that successfully ventured into real estate, SM Development Corp. (SMDC), has launched its new project, Breeze Residences, to rise along Roxas Boulevard in Pasay City.

The 38-storey project is on its preselling phase, targeting the young market between the ages of 30 and 40 years old.

“More than half of our market comes from the ‘young’ market. Those who earn, for example, about P60,000 and are young, single or newly weds, which is our target market, are the ones who can afford to invest in our project,” said Aye Luna, assistant vice president for marketing of the SMDC.

With flexible payment terms, the marketing executive believes that young professionals will be able to afford such purchases, especially those individuals belonging to the “middle-class,” or those with “rich parents.”

SMDC began selling units in November 2012, with a rate of P92,000 a square meter. Today, the price is P97,000 a square meter, showing that the project is a good investment.

The Breeze Residences will offer 2,133 studio and one-bedroom units, with the smallest unit at 27 square meters. According to Luna, the condominium project caters to the “middle-class market, but with five-star amenities.”
