Grandmaster (GM) Wesley So drew his fifth-round game with Chinese GM Zhou Jianchao to stay in contention in the prestigious 27th Summer Universiade chess competitions being held at the Kazan Sports Complex in Kazan Russia.

So raised his score to four points on three wins and two draws after five rounds. He defeated GM Andrey Baryshpolets of Ukraine after 66 moves of Slav defense in the fourth round.
