Star Magic artists Sofia Andres and Enchong Dee personally congratulated a new batch of graduates, which the ABS-CBN talent management arm sent to high school in the last several years. A simple get together was held for this group of teenagers who though gifted were previously unable to go to school because of their families’ financial hardships.
Enchong is one of the many Star Magic artists who volunteered to help fund the scholarship program.
“It is a different kind of fulfillment to know that we can help others with their education. Kaya hindi ako nag-dalawang isip nung nalaman ko na may program na ganito ang Star Magic. It’s a privilege to be given an opportunity like this and I will always want to help in any way I can,” he said at the graduation party.
On the other hand, Sofia, who also finished high school this year, saluted her fellow Class of 2015 graduates for their hard work and determination to succeed, despite their personal circumstances.
In coordination with ABS-CBN 71 Dreams, Star Magic has been supporting select scholars from different schools in Metro Manila since 2012. This year, Star Magic is proud to have 17 graduates in their first batch of scholars.
Raymund Cristobal, who graduated class valedictorian and plans to take up Chemical Engineering in University of the Philippines, expressed his gratitude to Star Magic.
“Nagpapasalamat po ako sa Diyos at Star Magic. Binigyan po nila ako ng pagkakataon makapag-aral ng maayos sa pamamagitan ng binigay nilang scholarship. Mas naging madali po ang pag-aaral at nakapagtapos po ako as valedictorian of the class.”
Star Magic is set to support 20 scholars in the coming school year.
