• Solar panels eyed on QC public buildings

Mayor Herbert Bautista of Quezon City (QC) has revealed plans to convert public schools and government office buildings into solar panel-friendly structures to save in allocations for the city’s electric bills. Bautista has directed the QC division of city schools and Task Force Streetlights to study the installation of solar panels on the roofing of public schools and government office buildings.

He said that aside from lowering the cost of electricity supplied by the Manila Electric Company, the plan would generate revenue through the sale of excess power generated by the solar panels.
