Soldier in hostage taking gives up


LEGAZPI CITY, Albay: Army Corporal Rene Prajele, who took a bus hostage late on Friday because of a family problem, surrendered peacefully after four hours also upon the prodding of his six-year old nephew. The soldier seized a Penafrancia Tours bus at Barangay Comadaycaday in Del Gallego, Camarines Sur causing terror among its passengers and heavy traffic at the Maharlika Highway. The hostage taker was also prodded to surrender through mobile phone by his godmother, who happens to be the wife of Col. Amador Tabuga Jr, commander of Army’s 902nd Brigade based in Camarines Norte. “He surrendered to Col. Tabuga [at 4:30 pm]after a call from a close family [friend]. No one was hurt,” Army Captain Marjoree Panesa said.
