A PRIVATE First Class soldier of the Philippine Army was killed while his three other colleagues sustained gunshot wounds in an encounter with still undetermined number of communist rebels on Thursday in a remote village of Kalinga.

The slain soldier was identified as one Private First Class Quizagan and those wounded in action were identified only as Macario, Unida and Abordo, all private first class from the 17th Infantry Battalion of the Army’s Isabela-based Fifth Infantry Division.
