TWO members of the indigenous people in Compostela Valley were killed by patrolling soldiers government troops after they were mistaken as communist rebels. Eastern Mindanao Command (Eastmincom) spokesman Capt. Alberto Caber on Thursday identified the fatalities as Landao Sabado Dangasan, 40 and his son Felix 16, both of the Lumad tribe. The incident happened in Sitio Taytayan, Barangay Andap in New Bataan town on October 12 while members of the 66th Infantry Battalion, 10th Infantry Division were on security patrol in preparation for a medical mission. He added that Eastmincom chief Lt. Gen. Aurelio Baladad has directed 10ID Commander Maj. Gen. Eduardo Año to conduct an investigation.
