Anchored on its vision to give importance to individuals who have made their mark in the entertainment industry, the annual “Walk of Fame,” which was founded and pursued by the late Master Showman German “Kuya Germs” Moreno is now under a new leadership.
Determined to continue what his father started, the late icon’s son Federico Moreno installed a board of trustees whose members were inducted earlier this year, with him as president. They agreed to promote new categories to the 2016 edition of the Walk of Fame—similar to Hollywood’s tradition of giving showbiz personalities a star—specifically for Theatre and News and Public Affairs.
As such, Federico unveiled this new batch of stars on the Walk of Fame in Eastwood City: Jennylyn Mercado and John Arcilla for Movies, Barbie Forteza for Television, and Susan Enriquez for News and Public Affairs.
“To be inducted in the Walk of Fame means you have really reached the epitome of success, wherein it’s not about the length of you being in showbiz, but how you made an impact on the industry,” Federico explained. “The Walk of Fame Foundation of our dear Kuya Germs is our own small way of continuing his legacy. This is one of the best contributions my family and the close friends of my father can offer to the Philippine Entertainment industry.”
Jackie Lou Blanco and John Nite co-hosted this year’s Walk of Fame induction.
