SEOUL: South Korea reported eight new cases of MERS virus Wednesday, including four at a hospital at the centre of the outbreak, as questions grow over authorities' ability to contain the disease that has killed 19 people in less than a month.

The eight patients, whose ages range from 31 to 79 years old, push the total number of infections from Middle East Respiratory Syndrome up to 162, the health ministry said.
