The Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC) moved the deadline for submission of Qualification Documents in the bidding process for the P4-billion Integrated Transport System (ITS)-South Terminal Project to November 25 from the original scheduled date of November 4.
In a bid bulletin, the DOTC said, “In order to give prospective bidders ample time to prepare, please be informed that the date of the deadline of Qualification Documents is moved from November 4, 2014 to November 25, 2014.”
The department, moreover, said that the Qualification Documents shall be opened immediately after the deadline for the submission of Qualification Documents at the DOTC Conference Room.
In July, it announced that it has started looking for potential bidders for the construction and operation of the ITS-South Terminal to be located near the Food Terminal Inc. compound in Taguig City.
The DOTC then issued an invitation to prospective bidders to file applications to pre-qualify and submit bids to finance, design, construct, operate, and maintain the ITS-South Terminal for 35 years.
The ITS-South Terminal is intended to connect passengers from Laguna and Batangas to other transportation systems in Metro Manila.
It is the first of three permanent terminals planned by the DOTC, which are designed to help ease traffic congestion in Metro Manila by relocating provincial bus terminals to its peripheries.
