SOUTH toll-road operators raise emergency response capability

Skyway O&M Corp. (SOMCO), Manila Toll Expressway Systems Inc. (MATES) and Star Tollway Corp. (STC), the operators of the Skyway System, South Luzon Expressway and Star Tollway, respectively, recently acquired additional recovery gear including crocodile and mechanical jacks, air compressors and towing equipment to better respond to the needs of distressed motorists on the south toll roads.

Now well-equipped with complete tow gears, the patrol vehicles roving the 108-kilometer tollroads from Magallanes in Makati City to Batangas City are expected to improve their more reaction time to quickly assist motorists and commuters—significantly reducing traffic obstruction caused by minor or serious road incidents.
