The relaunch of Art in Aura at SM Aura has given independent music artists a much-needed venue to propagate their sound.
Held in partnership with Stage Sessions, BP Valenzuela, a Filipino singer-songwriter and independent electronic pop artist; and Crwn, a Manila-based producer working with King Puentespina were first to take to the stage.
Jess Connelly provided a fresh, new voice for Manila with her seamless integration of music and fashion, while young rapper on the rise Mito Fabie or Curtis Smith illuminated his reality through candid rhymes about frustrations, hopes, dreams, and the third world hustle.
ASCH, on the other hand, showed how he was heavily influenced by various genres like hip hop, blues, jazz, future and electronic music.
More live musical performances, alongside art workshops and local artisans and vendors will be available at Art in Aura’s Courtyard Weekend Fair.
Indie artists scheduled to perform in the coming weekends include Zsaris, Dante & Amigo, Brisom and Jensen and the Flips.
Art in Aura is a long- standing campaign to promote and welcome art, and will feature more collaboration with artists from all over the country for the rest of the year.
