Members of the diplomatic corps, the expat community, celebrities, and Manila’s stylish had recently gathered at SM Aura Premier for the opening of the first Uno de 50 store in the Philippines.

Guests were transported to Ibiza or Mallorca as the foreign crowd went over Uno de 50’s artisan handcrafted jewelry known for its creativity, unique style, and bold spirit. More of these exquisite pieces will be showcased as the store expands to SM Megamall on May 27, the Mall of Asia on June 11, and at SM Makati towards the end of the year.

The newest addition to the growing list of Spanish retail brands in the country was welcomed by Spanish Embassy Consul General Don Ignacio Perez Cambra, who was the guest of honor during the opening, together with the jewelry brand’s Expansion Director Jose Luis Pardo, and Franchise Director Riccardo Ranier, who both flew in from the Philippines for the event. Elizabeth Sy was with the brand’s Business Unit Head Christine Syjueco to welcome the foreign guests.

“UNO de 50 is a very special brand, originally only 50 pieces each design are marketed but because of its vast growth across Europe and America, definitely the brand had to produce more than 50 pieces,” said Consul General Cambra while delivering his welcome remarks at the grand opening.

Sylvia Tay, wife of the Belgian ambassador also attended the event, as did artist Betsy Westendorp, Immaculada Pardo of the Spanish Embassy, and members of the Latin American Women’s Club.

Hola Philippines’ Valeria Cavestany Aboitiz, Christopher and Bianca Zobel-Warns, and Editor-in-Chief Jose Marie Ugarte, who was the brand’s event partner, graced the event together with members of Manila’s stylish celebrities including Bianca Araneta Elizalde, Georgia del Rosario, Ariella Arida, Rima Ostwani, and Claudine Trillo.

“We picked the Philippines because we have a good feeling with our partner, SM Retail. We think that we can do good things together, at the same time the Philippine market is very dynamic, locations for new foreign brands are perfect, and that’s why we are very confident and we are ready in bringing the brand in the Philippines,” the brand’s expansion director said.

UNO de 50 has 501 of its own shops in Spain and over 25 abroad in some of the world’s top fashion capitals—New York, Miami, Las Vegas, Paris, Milan, Rome, and Amsterdam. Uno de 50 is located at the Second Level of SM Aura Premier.
