HYUNDAI’s bestselling compact sedan, the Elantra, can now be made sportier through a power upgrade package from SpeedLab.
The power package, available to both the Elantra 1.6L and 1.8L, addresses the clamor for an upgrade kit for the car, according to SpeedLab.
“The Hyundai Elantra, whose popularity rivals that of the industry leaders in the compact car segment, finally has a power upgrade package. The clamor for upping the power band of this Korean model is increasing and car tuning specialist SpeedLab just has the perfect kit for it,” SpeedLab executive Ferman Lao said.
The SpeedLab power package consists of components designed to maximize horsepower, torque, response and fuel efficiency. A SpeedLab-designed K&N intake replaces the stock and restrictive factory air box and a Hot Pipes stainless-steel performance header takes the place of the small restrictive stock header.
Further, a Unichip Piggyback fuel computer maximizes the engine’s tuning to take advantage of the increased intake and exhaust flow to deliver maximum performance. All components are 100-percent bolt-on, requiring no cutting, welding or modification to the vehicle. Power increase of 15 wheel horsepower to 20 wheel horsepower, and improved fuel efficiency of 10 percent to 12 percent, can be realized.
