SPLASH Corp., the manufacturer behind Skin White, Maxi-Peel and Extraderm products, more than doubled its net income in the first six months on higher sales and a decline in operating expenses.
In a statement, Splash said net income in the period rose to P39.9 million from P13.2 million last year while revenue grew 5.1 percent to P1.7 billion, driven by 22 percent sales growth in the food business and an 11 percent sales expansion in international personal care products.
The food business is operated by Splash Foods Corp., which markets and distributes its brands Barrio Fiesta and Moondish Foods to the overseas market. As of end-June, Splash Foods International contributed the highest growth to the food segment, growing 50 percent on expanding networks to North America, Middle East, Europe, and Australian markets, and concentrating on Barrio Fiesta Mixes.
Splash Corp. is the company is behind personal care brands such as Kolours, Vitresse, Extraderm, Maxi-Peel, Skin White, Biolink, and Theraherb VCO.
It has also diversified its operations in hospital business through an 83.5-percent ownership in London-based Bakersfield Family Medical Center in 2013, and in the food segment through the 80-percent acquisition of Barrio Fiesta Manufacturing Corp. in August 2011 and the 100 percent purchase of Moondish Goods Corp. in September 2012.
Splash’s products and brands are present in Southeast Asian and European countries, the United States, China, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, India and countries in Middle East and Africa.
