Spurs, Thunder nab needed wins

BRIEFS-parkerDENVER: The San Antonio Spurs and Oklahoma City Thunder, trying to reassert themselves in the NBA’s powerful Western Conference, gained needed victories on Tuesday. French point guard Tony Parker, who has been slowed this season by a nagging hamstring injury, scored 18 points to lead six Spurs players in double figures as San Antonio pulled away for a 109-99 victory over the Denver Nuggets. In Miami, Oklahoma City’s reigning NBA Most Valuable Player Kevin Durant flirted with a triple-double and didn’t turn the ball over in more than 39 minutes on the floor as the Thunder moved over .500 for the first time this season with a 94-86 victory over the Heat.
