SsangYong has added a limited edition model to its Giugiaro designed Korando sport utility vehicle (SUV) – Red. Based on the Korando ELX 2.2, the car adds a stunning full red leather interior, a six-way power adjustable and ventilated driver’s seat, powered sunroof and HID (High Intensity Discharge) headlights, with a choice of either a metallic space black or metallic techno grey exterior. The car also includes an Aisin six-speed automatic gearbox.
The Korando ELX features intelligent on demand four wheel drive, heated front and rear seats, a smart infotainment system with seven-inch touch screen with a TomTom navigation system, a rear view camera and 18-inch diamond cut alloy wheels.
The Korando ELX Red is powered by SsangYong’s newly developed e-XDi220 2.2-liter diesel engine for a more powerful performance and lower CO2 emissions than the previous 2.0-liter engine it replaces. Maximum power is increased to 178 PS (175 horsepower) and torque to 400 Newton-meters – up by 19.4 percent and 11 percent respectively, and maximum torque is delivered from a low of 1,400 revolutions per minute and maintained through a wide range up to 2,800 rpm for smooth, progressive driving from the start.
Five-year limitless mileage warranty
All models in the SsangYong range are covered by a best-in-class five-year limitless mileage warranty. Designed to be totally transparent and give customers complete peace of mind, “limitless” means just that: not a maximum mileage condition that some brands impose in their small print. All the major mechanical components are covered including wheel bearings, suspension joints and bushes, steering joints, shock absorbers and even the audio system. Wearable components such as clutch discs and brake friction materials that could have their life reduced by poor driving are covered for one year or 12,500 miles, and the battery and paintwork for three years.
