• Stallion FC battles Maldives in friendly today


    Local first division club Stallion FC will be playing against the national football team of Maldives in a friendly match at 5 p.m. today at the Rizal Memorial Football Stadium (RMFS) in Manila.

    The Stallions, who crashed out of the United Football League Cup 2015 semis after incurring a 5-4 loss against Kaya FC on penalties, will be the missing the support of Azkals standout Simone Rota in their match against Maldives because of rib injury.

    The Maldives team, named Red Snappers and ranking 176th in the world will be holding a two-match training outing in the Philippines to bolster their preparation for their upcoming match against Asian football giants China in the second round of the joint Asian Cup and World Cup qualifiers.

    The Maldives booters are also scheduled to face the Philippine national football team in a friendly at the RMFS on September 3.
