State of calamity declared in Isabela town


LUNA, Isabela: This town in the third district of Isabela has been declared under the state of calamity following a dengue outbreak. Luna Mayor Jaime Atayde has reported at least 33 residents afflicted with dengue fever in the past weeks aside from those brought to private hospitals for treatment. According to the World Health Organization, dengue is a mosquito-borne viral infection. Vice Mayor Andy Domingo and the councilors approved a resolution declaring Luna under a state of calamity and allotted P500,000 for fogging operations and assistance to affected families.
