Miami Heat’s Dwyane Wade is now on his third collection with Stance Socks. Snoop Dog is teaming up with Sweden’s Happy Socks for a sock line that is totally chill. Former US President George HW Bush, who has been photographed wearing designs of lavender and orange as well as varying combinations of red, white, and blue, wore cotton candy colored socks during the dedication of his presidential library.
The statement sock—whether distinguished by bright blue or a bold pattern or both at the same time—has become the to-go fashion accessory for guys from everywhere in the world.
According to the US market research company NPD Group, socks have become a statement piece, and sales growth in the category has outpaced that of the broader apparel market for the past two years.
“Wearing a patterned sock in the office is a small statement saying you are more than a navy suit,” says Doug Moss, vice president and general manager of Saks Fifth Avenue, who has watched the trend grow over the years. “It also communicates that you care about your appearance and aren’t afraid to personalize your look.”
Statement socks make a big impression in stripes, dots, paisley, pastel, and novelty prints in three lengths—formal, anklet, and invisible. Check out what’s out there for the choosing with these picks and photos courtesy of SM Accessories.
