‘Step up’ on NKorea, Tillerson prods China

SYDNEY: China and other nations must strengthen efforts to curb North Korea’s nuclear weapons program, US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson said on Monday, while also calling out Beijing over its South China Sea activities.

In the Asia-Pacific region, the United States has spent recent weeks trying to reassure allies it can maintain a tough line against China’s “militarization” of the South China Sea while at the same time seeking help from Beijing.
