STI opens Calamba school

STI Education Systems Holdings Inc., the listed educational institution owned by businessman Eusebio Tanco, has opened the five-storey STI Academic Center in Calamba, Laguna.

This is the fourth STI campus inaugurated so far this year, following the launches of STI schools in Batangas, Cubao and Lucena

“Calamba is a strategic location, especially advantageous because of its close proximity to Metro Manila without being as highly urbanized, and its greener environment. The development of certain areas in Calamba also brings with it marked improvements in the lifestyles to a growing number of residents, leading to the increasing need to provide certain levels of education. This is why notable schools have established sites in the area in order to cater to students who do not have to travel far to receive a good education,” STI President and Chief Executive Officer Monico V. Jacob said.

The P340-million STI Calamba is on a 7,397 square-meter property located in Brgy. Uno, National Highway in Calamba, Laguna, which is designed to accommodate up to 3,200 enrollees for the upcoming school year 2015 to 2016.|

Courses offered included Information & Communications Technology, Business & Management, Tourism & Hospitality Management, Arts and Sciences, and Engineering.

The company has four STI schools in Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, Las Pinas that are undergoing construction, which are also set for launching this year. STI Chairman Eusebio Tanco earlier said that STI will be having more land acquisitions this year to build more universities.

To date, STI has spent P2.2 billion out of the P5 billion allotted for its land acquisition and expansion plans.
