There’s still no scheduled one-on-one meeting between President Benigno Aquino 3rd and Chinese President Xi Jinping in next week’s Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit.
“As mentioned earlier, there is none on schedule but there will be plenty of opportunity for President Aquino and President Xi Jinping to have a conversation owing to the fact that normally magkatabi po ang current host at ang previous host at ang future host ng mga APEC years,” Deputy presidential spokesperson Abigail Valte told state-run Radyo ng Bayan.
The APEC 2015 National Organizing Council last week announced that the President Aquino will hold 11 bilateral meetings with his counterparts during the APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting (AELM). The council did not name the 11 leaders who have scheduled one-on-one meetings with Aquino.
Valte also declined to reveal the agenda of the bilateral talks, which she clarified are “separate and distinct from the issues that are taken in the APEC itself as an economic forum.”
