Streaking Bulldogs want share of lead

The NU-UE match is schedule at 4 p.m. Clashing in the first game at 2 p.m. are Adamson University and University of the Philippines (UP) with the Fighting Maroons hoping to finally barge into the win-column after losing their first nine games.

NU is in second with a 7-3 mark behind solo leader Far Eastern University (8-3). Defending champion Ateneo de Manila University and De La Salle University are sharing the No. 3 position with identical 6-4 cards followed by UE (5-4), University of Santo Tomas (5-5), Adamson (3-8) and UP (0-9).

The Bulldogs are on a four-game winning streak behind efforts of two-time Most Valuable Player Bobby Ray Parks Jr. and Cameroonian Emmanuel Mbe – the team’s top two scorers. They are looking to bounce back from their 66-71 loss to UE in the first round.

The Red Warriors, on the other hand, are still licking the wounds of their 94-98 double overtime loss over the Tamaraws last Sunday.

Sierra Leone native Charles Mammie and Lord Casajeros won’t be seeing action as UAAP Commissioner Chito Loyzaga slapped them with two-game suspensions.

Roi Sumang is expected to carry the Red Warriors along with Ralf Olivares, Adrian Santos, Gino Jumao-as and Chris Javier. Standings
