ONE of the world’s leading lubricant specialists in motor sports is marking this year the 60th anniversary of its involvement with the
24 Hours of Le Mans, the most prestigious endurance race series globally. To celebrate the occasion, a new partnership agreement has been signed between the two bodies.
Motul in 2014 is the official lubricant partner to the Le Mans Classic event that will take place at the Circuit des 24 Heures in Le Mans, France on July 4 to 6. One of the biggest events dedicated to historical cars, Le Mans Classic welcomes more than 500 cars on track and some 8,000 vehicles from car clubs around the globe. The 7th Le Mans Classic, organized by Peter Auto, is expected to draw more than 100,000 spectators.
The Le Mans Classic is one of the last Sarthois events not to benefit from Motul’s competition experience and lubricant expertise. As many as 195 cars have carried Motul’s name and colors at Le Mans since 1972, resulting in a firm establishment for the brand not just at the 24 Hours Le Mans, but also the 24H Moto and the Grand Prix de France. With its new official lubricant partner status, plus sponsorship of the Le Mans Classic Grid 5 (cars from 1966/1971), Motul is extending its reach in the historic vehicle market and to enthusiasts of classic cars.
Car club members and classic-car owners will benefit from Motul’s complete range of historic vehicle lubricants and care products that cater to the very specific needs of classic cars. Motul’s SAE 30 and SAE 50 are suitable for engines and gearboxes built between 1900 and 1950, while the 20W50 and 15W50 lubricants are more suited to models produced from 1950 to the ’70s. The 300V Motorsport line is particularly adapted to vehicles with rebuilt engines that are competing in historic racing.
In the Philippines, Motul oil and lubricants are exclusively distributed by Autoplus Sportzentrium.
