Student freed for P40,000

A 14-year-old student from De La Salle Greenhills in Mandaluyong City (Metro Manila) was held at knife point by a man who later released him after his family paid P40,000. Eastern Police District (EPD) Director Chief Supt. Elmer Jamias said Grade 8 student Hans Nigel Marcelo was in the car at the school’s parking lot with his aunt, Annalyn Perez at about 2:15 p.m. on Sunday, when the suspect barged in and declared the heist. The suspect demanded P100,000 from the victim’s family which was reduced to P40,000. After the pay off at Tiendesitas in Pasig City the suspect ordered to be dropped in mall in EDSA Crossing where he disappeared from the crowd.
