• Student nabbed with P2.5M shabu

SHARIFF AGUAK, Maguindanao: A criminology student was arrested with 10 big packets of shabu worth P2.5-million during a buy-bust in Datu Odin Sinsuat town here.

Juvenal Azurin, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency–Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (PDEA-ARMM) chief, identified the suspect as Raffy Osama, 22, of Barangay Bagua in Cotabato City.

He said Osama was tip off by his relatives and friends saying he distributes the illegal drugs to his contacts in nearby towns in Maguindanao.

“He is one of our big targets and our surveillance was hastened with the help of his friends and relatives and vigilant barangay [village]officials in Cotabato City and Datu Odin Sinsuat,” Azurin said.

He added that Osama is in their list of high-value targets, including Mohammad Tuankali Macalimpas, 47, who was arrested earlier by narcotics agents.

Macalimpas, alleged member of the 105th Base Command of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front, was arrested in Pigcawayan, North Cotabato while selling more than P2 million worth of shabu to combined agents from PDEA’s regional offices in ARMM and General Santos City.
