A major reshuffle at the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) will be implemented soon as Interior and Local Government Secretary Ismael Sueno approves the reassignment of key senior officers as part of their career development. Sueno said the movements are in line with the provisions of Republic Act 9263 or “An Act Providing for the Professionalization of the Bureau of Fire Protection and Bureau of Jail Management and Penology and its Implementing Rules and Regulations.” Among those reassigned and/or designated to new posts were: Fire Chief Supt. Leonard Banago as Deputy Chief for Administration – BFP Headquarters; F/Chief Supt. Leonides Perez, Deputy Chief for Operations, BFP-NHQ; F/Senior Supt. Roel Jeremy Diaz, Chief, Directorial Staff; F/Senior Supt. Carlito Ocena, new Regional Director – Region 9; F/Senior Supt. Ireneo Palicpic, Director – Fire Safety and Prevention BFP-NHQ; F/Senior Supt. Wilberto Rico Neil Kwan Tiu, new Regional Director, BFP-NCR (National Capital Region or Metro Manila); F/Senior Supt. Aderson Comar in light duty status, Office of BFP–Officer-in-Charge; F/Supt. Rommel Tradio as OIC, Directorate for Personnel, BFP-NHQ; F/Supt. Fred Trajeras Jr., Officer-in-Charge BFP-Negros Island; and F/Supt. Dominador Zabala Jr., new OIC- BFP Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao.
