Pork barrel scam witness Merlina Suñas ended her testimony onThursday with both the defense and prosecution claiming that she helped their cause.
Suñas testified in the hearings for the petitions for bail of Sen. Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr., his aide Richard Cambe, and alleged pork scam brains Janet Lim-Napoles at the Sandiganbayan’s First Division.
Suñas testified that in 2006, she personally gave P5 million commission to Cambe. The second time she gave another P5 million, she was with Benhur Luy and Napoles. She said she even helped count the money.
Revilla’s lawyer Joel Bodegon said Suñas helped his client because she confirmed that she did not give the alleged money directly to Revilla.
Revilla, Cambe and Napoles are named defendants in a P224-million plunder case in connection with the pork barrel scam.
Suñas was president of the People’s Organization for Progress and Development Foundation of the Philippines, one of the 20 non-government organizations owned by Napoles.
