• Supreme Court affirms case vs Drug trafficker

THE Supreme Court has upheld the verdict rendered by the lower court against a man who was found guilty of drug trafficking and was penalized to suffer life imprisonment. In a decision penned by Associate Justice Martin Villarama, the Third Division dismissed the appeal for lack of merit filed by Rolando Carrera as it held that he is guilty of the charge as defined under Section 5, Article II, Republic Act 9165. In July 2009, it was found out that Carrera sold and delivered to PO1 Joseph Samson, who posed as buyer shabu weighing 4.5722 grams, among others, without the corresponding license or prescription.
