• Supreme Court upholds graft raps vs Napoles

The Supreme Court (SC) on Tuesday junked a petition of Janet Lim Napoles seeking the dismissal of the graft complaints filed against her in connection with the alleged misuse of the Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF) of former representatives Samuel Dangwa and Constantino Jaraula.

The High Court upheld the ruling of the Office of the Ombudsman that found probable cause to file two counts of graft and two counts of malversation of public funds against Napoles.

Napoles, John Raymund de Asis and Allan Javellana were indicted for the alleged anomalous disbursements of the PDAF of Dangwa totaling P54 million during his term from 2004 to 2007.

Napoles was also charged in connection with the misuse of Jaraula’s pork barrel amounting to P50 million; also from 2004 to 2007.
