Jennylyn and Jerrylyn de Guzman were conjoined from the chest to the stomach when they left the Philippines in January.
When they came back to the country on Wednesday night, they were no longer stuck to each other.
The twins, aged one, were separated through a successful surgery in Taiwan through the help of the Tzu Chi Foundation. The foundation learned of the case of the conjoined twins through the local fire volunteer brigade in Dagupan, Pangasinan in February 2014.
They were brought to Taiwan in January this year and underwent two months of nutritional care before undergoing surgery on March 13 at the Buddhist Tzu Chi General Hospital in Hualien county.
Members of the foundation in Manila welcomed the twins, as well as officials of the Manila Economic and Cultural Office headed by Ambassador Antonio Basilio.
