SUSPECT ADMITS CHINESE STUDENT MURDERS

LOS ANGELES: A man accused of murdering two Chinese students in Los Angeles in 2012 pleaded guilty on Wednesday (Thursday in Manila) and was immediately jailed for life. Bryan Barnes, 21, admitted two charges of first-degree murder over the shooting deaths of Ying Wu and Ming Qu, killed as they sat in a car in April 2012 near the University of Southern California (USC) campus. The victims, both 23 years old, were studying electrical engineering at USC and had planned to marry.
