A MAN tagged as one of the suspects in the killing of Judge Wilfredo Nieves in Bulacan was arrested by joint police operatives early dawn on Friday in a village in Bacoor City, Cavite.
Chief Insp. Elizabeth Jasmin, spokesperson of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) identified the arrested suspect as Jay Joson, 29, of San Jose del Monte, Bulacan.
Jasmin said that Joson was arrested by combine operatives of the unit’s Anti-Organized Crime Unit and Cavite Provincial Police Office (CPPO) at around 2 a.m., at Prime Global Hospital in Bahayang Pag-Asa in Barangay Molino, Bacoor.
Joson is said to be the driver of the vehicle with gunman Arnel Janoras in the ambush of the judge last Nov. 11 in Malolos, Bulacan. Janoras was killed when he reportedly grappled the gun of one of his police escorts on the way to a court for inquest following his arrest late last year.
The suspect has been under surveillance for more than a month until he was tracked down at the hospital where his two sons were under treatment.
